Garden Walk-Abouts
Need expert garden advice that only a house call can cure? This unique service allows you to tour your garden with one of our horticulturalists / exterior decorators to gain fresh ideas to improve your hardscaping, plant materials and garden decor. For the Markham & Unionville Area, a ninety minute tour is $90 plus tax.

Fine Gardening
Fine Gardening means that we tend perennial beds and borders as well as flowering and evergreen shrubs. Fine Gardening involves fertilizing, disease and pest control, cultivating, aerating, weeding, deadheading, pruning and staking.
This usually involves a spring clean up, weekly or bi-weekly tending, and a fall "put the garden to bed". We evaluate the plants in the spring and treat for pests and diseases using only organic solutions.
Each team of three is lead by an experienced gardener and two assistants.

Seasonal Container Gardening
We're passionate about creating fabulous outdoor containers for our clients. We can: teach you how to do it yourself, help you pot up at our studio, create "drop pots" to pop into your urns or come right to your door for a customized approach ideally suited to your home...
The Four Seasons of Container Gardening:
Spring (April & May)
We use only cold hardy plants that can withstand dips towards freezing: pansies, primroses, tulips, daffodils, hacinths, pussywillows, branches and ivy.
A perfect welcome to a garden's New Year!
Summer (May to September)
We choose from an extensive list of container-worthy annuals known for their staying power, in styles and colours to suit your home and specially selected to thrive in your sun conditions. We plant any size of container including urns, windowboxes, mossed baskets or individual small pots. Then we add a serious WOW factor with dramatic verticals, vines, fillers and trailers.
Fall (September to November)
Our harvest looks include asters, mums, kale, gourds, pansies, grasses, etcetera...that look great well into frost.
Winter (November to March)
Our arrangements of evergreens, berries, and boughs are known for their unique, lush and long-lasting "Kate's Garden" look.
How it Works...
Sign up in store or by phone for classes or DIY pots. For custom plantings at your home, our Kate's Garden crews are dispatched by geographic region each season. You choose how many seasons to plant and how many containers you want planted.
Fees
Prices are based on the quantity of materials used, plus an hourly rate for each crew member plus drive time.
We always use top quality materials, premium grade soil and slow release fertilier (summer only) and a "generous hand" in terms of quantity of plants.

Bulb Planting
We plant in the Fall for a magnificent showing next Spring. Available from late September until first week of November.
Spring & Fall Clean-ups
Need help to rejeuvenate tired beds? Not looking forward to putting the garden to bed in Fall and cleaning up in Spring? The kate's garden team will take care of this for you.
Shrub Pruning
We can do it for you...or teach you what to prune and when to ensure that your flowering shrubs live up to their potential.
